Oh god, of course there is always bias but it's very easy to understand the difference between a country where different views can debate and a country where it basically doesnt exist. Here they keep inviting in tv talk shows people with opposite views on gaza, ukraine, and many other suff, while where you live this doesnt happen.

Yes, and there were a lot of chances. The problem is that Russians never wanted democracy, neither for themselves not for the others. Their wet dream is to turn everything into a big pile of garbage and sit on top of it like king of the hill, preventing everyone from fixing what they've done.

Democracy doesn't exist, you vote representatives that do whatever they want to get voted again, you don't vote policy.

A good example is how the british voted to reduce migration and their elected offiicials, who in liberal democracy only respond to a unelected bureucracy and donors, NGOs, the press, only increased brown migration that secured they will get voted again.

Britain is a perfect example of an authoritarian liberal democracy where questioning diversity gets the pigs in your door.
Where saying you dont want pakis in london ruling you and your economy gets you a terrorism charge.

Democracy is just a cover up for oligarchy, the oligarchy gets to switch mask every 4 years and the proles feel empowered

People will call me a zigger even though I resent Russia but:
Have you ever thought that maybe their "special regime" is a necessity?
I can fully understand that they don't want to be an American puppet like 95% of all other countries on earth.
What did "democracy" get them?
De-Industrialization and poverty.
Since Putin is in power they are doing their own thing again and if I was a Russian I would support that.

I have the freedom the pursue a political career if i wanted to, but for me it's enough being able to freely discuss about stuff without having to fear jail. Also very dull to reduce everything at that, like there aint proper issues to discuss. Germany is a country which should seriously start focusing on its industrial policy and energetic plan, but if people are more interested in talking about nonsense then it's a different story.

The problem is not the tool but how you use it, as they say. Im not saying it's a perfect system, but if you care about change then start expecting from politicians less propaganda, more pragmatism and being able to offer concrete solutions instead of using empty rethoric.

>The problem is not the tool but how you use it, as they say.
The tool is not a static element.
Democracy is a system and systems reform over time
If democracy is allowed to follow its path it will decay into authoritarianism and a system that is resilent to reform.
America is one of the oldest democracies in earth and it shows what democracies become over time

Uniparties controlled by an oligarchy that plays both teams and switch mask every certain time to keep an appearence of legitimacy.
While the real power, however, is retained in unelected institutions

You dont vote your press, you dont vote your financial sector, you dont vote your academia, you dont vote your NGOs, you dont vote foreign policy, you dont vote international law.
Your population is propagandized by the PMC/intelligentsia and then they are given some show to legitimice their rule.

In non democratic governments your ruling class is held accountable, in democracy they switch public faces each 4 years

But it is.
Puting is always with a hand up his ass because one bad move and his government can collapse

The ruling class and the appointed authorties are in the frontline because they are the source of legitimacy.
Why do you think israel constnatly kills the leadership of its enemies?
Because without them, their regime crumbles.

Meanwhile in democracies killing a president or a governor meams nothing
That kind of people is switched in regular basis.
There is always replacements set in place to keep the same agenda going.
It is a built-in part of the system that public elected officials are in constant rotation

Its not, authoritarian governments are much less resilent to collapse than democracy
Popular discontent is accumulated over time.
Meanwhile in democracy the only accountability there is expressed as some cathartic election each 4 years where the appointed parties get ounished while the actual oligarchy and long term project remains in place.
The point of democracy is that; since the political class is constantly changing, power consolidates in that which remains unchanged, and that is the oligarchy and the PMC class.
Whereas in authoritarian governments power is consolidated in the static political class.
So when you overthrow it you are actually changing the power structure
