Eastern Europe is doing alright. Look at how countries like Poland, Czech Republic or the Baltics were doing in the 90s or even twenty years ago and compare it to now.

Russia will be one of the few countries to benefit from the climate change, since the tundra disappearing means half of their countries turns from uninhabited shithole to somewhat good land (we southerners will experience the same, and the MENA Will get fucked HARD by this, mark my words)

Also the arctic melting means more trading routes for them

that's just a band-aid. Losing an 18 year old that has 40 productive years in him, just to have him wire his mom enough money to do groceries isn't worth it in the long run for the original country. You want people staying there, working there, consooming there etc.
