I don't get the point of overpaying for super duper fast internet. Looks cool when you're posting screenshots on incel forums and must be nice that you can play the latest bing bing wahoo within 15 minutes but you don't use your maximum bandwidth 99.9% of the time.

I don't know if it is a fake information but I heard there are some countries where internet is not unlimited or they need to pay a utterly big plan. Here it's unlimited since at least 20 years for like 30 euros per month, 5gbit speed

i got 500ish when i owned an apartment in the city, max of 5g idk? doesnt matter, i didnt need it anf they couldnt dig up the street to lay fiber and here in rural bumfuck fiber was laid out a few years ago. only reason i want landline internet is stability.

Generally here only business areas had the proper fibre infrastructure installed. Its becoming more common for residential areas to get it now.
With it there is also becoming more competition with ISPs.
A lot of ISPs just piggy back off other ones infrastructure though.
