2009 is the first big breakpoint:

Second half of 2009 seems like a big breakpoint and all of the today's cancer(which actually started in 2007 but weren't popular at least for 2 years) spread into general population and popularized for the first time. If you only consider young population(-25) all of these statistics would be x2 or more.
I remember all of the popular Turkish family sitcoms ended in 2009-2010 and major TV channels stopped broadcasting cartoons like Smurfs, Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes. That is a sign of atomized childless society with no family values. Opinions?

Great Recession is nothing compared with today and didn't affect our lives that much if you aren't working on financial/investment/banking/insurance business or a NYC white collar. We felt almost zero in Turkey.

All the prosperity and social order of the 2000's was predicated on the post World War growth and rapid early globalization that the entire western hemisphere (including Turkey) experienced. It was destined to fall apart eventually with or without the oncoming tech apocalypse. The comfy childhood that we all shared was an extreme outlier in human history and was never meant to be sustainable nor replicable.
