the funny thing is, the decline would've worked out perfectly fine because it goes hand in hand with advances in technology. china now has completely autonomous factories where they don't even need to keep the lights on. so in the long run, salaries go up because there are fewer but more valuable workers, productivity goes up because technology + investment in each worker more than make up for smaller workforce, prices go down because of abundance despite lower demand, and businesses (maybe after some consolidation) remain profitable and still have their bottom line go up. "planners" who say the decline is bad and that they must import aliens to offset it are either grossly incompetent or truly malicious. make up your own mind on this.
