Literally in the end the day, yesterday's election for Japanese diet members did not bring about any major changes other than the seats of the previous ruling coalition fell down below the half. The ruling party's (LDP) leader Ishiba said he has no intention of resigning.
Besides, a newly growing right-wing party gained a few seats, although not a significant figure itself among all the parliament members. (The said party clearly declares it's against too much dedication to defending LGBTQ, SDGs, and "diversities") That's said I somehow feel the rise of right-wing sentiment in this country and am concerned about it.

I had a dream today where I ran into an old friend and he told me to study Japanese for 5 hours a day for 30 days. How far would that actually get me with learning Japanese? Probably not far but I was wondering

Not very far in only 30 days, but if you're time effective it wouldn't be bad.
If you want to learn Japanese and are willing to put in 5 hours a day you can do it. After a short while you'll be doing a lot more reading and watching anime than you actually study and just having fun will be your studying.

anywhere I can watch japanese variety shows? mostly interested in those low key documentaries where they explore some local area or culture. those segments sometimes air on the news stations too but are quite short.

Sorry to ask a stupid question about English, but which verb would you use when you want to explain that a political ideology (like nationalism, communism etc.) is on the rise among the people in your country?

I just wanted to know natural or common or native-like ways of saying something like XX主義(一般的にネガティブに受け取られる政治的思想)が台頭している in English to increase my poor vocabulary, which is what I asked the question for.

I'm neither an asker nor an answerer, but after reading your question, I found myself confused about what ideology is, thinking about, for example how socialism became active in Japan under the influence of the Russian Revolution, how patriotism reached its peak during WW2, and how the anti-war movement became escalated in 1960s.
Needless to say, questions that make people ponder are GOOD questions.

ちなみに西洋人として、ゲームで英語を学んだ。全然勉強していなかった。言語はあれだけ似ているから。
日本人としては文法の大差の訳で勉強無しではたぶん難しすぎる。
西洋人として勉強無しで日本語を学ぶことは無理だ、読めないから。

その点について面白い豆知識がある
ノルウェー人の男の英語が上手な人は英語下手な人より将来的に少ない金を稼ぐ。女の子はその差がない。男の子の差の理由は英語上手はゲームばっかりの人だから。なにも勉強していない。
