So when is China gonna start exporting music, films, tv shows that make the whole world idealize the Chinese way of living?

no, they suck because the government has strong censorship, good art always has some form of rebellion or subversion, take 3 body problem for example, it's passable scifi but it promotes totalitarianism
so no, something else must happen first

The Golden Age of Hollywood occurred when it had to adhere to a strict code. The best movies of Russia and South Korea were released when they were under a dictatorship

They'll probably have some success, but countries that are authoritarian and where censorship is the norm usually have a lots of difficulty exporting their culture.
>Better the slop coming out of Hollywood/The West
Yeah, but at least the opportunity for making something better is still there. Artistic expression that especially dense and nuanced usually skirts the line, since by it's very nature it makes reflect on fundamental questions that might be "answered" and enforced by the state and respective idealogy.

If you want an example of this just like at Soviet animation and how convoluted it had to be just to get around censorship

Except some of the greatest movies in Hollywood was made before the Haye's code. 1924's 'Greed' is basically considered THE greatest work of cinema of all time and that happened during the first red scare. We don't need you to spoonfeed us this bullshit line of reasoning, fag.

Hays code is a moral code, anti-comminist activities has nothing to do with the code, otherwise they would have changed the code after the war, just look up the production guidelines, its not about "communism"

Yeah exactly, I'm not saying Chinese culture will never explode, I'm just saying it's not going to reach the highs of Japanese and American media without censorship loosening. Saying that though, I do think the CCP is fully aware the power culture plays in regard to geopolitics, and unlike their Soviet friends, they're a lot more pragmatic. WhIch means yes, you're 100% going to a very decent degree of Chinese culture exported

American impressions and idea about Japanese media is so hilariously shallow and dated. People STILL jack off to basic bitch Akira and Sailor Moon homages despite most people never having read the manga for the former and the manga being an after thought for many in regards to the latter.

I think Chinese gacha games looks pretty good. Admittedly, I don't actually play them, but I do like the community artwork on them. Took fancy with ZZZ girls, I think Evelyn Chevalier looks pretty good, but all of Chinese gacha girls are pretty cute. Yes, obviously I'm talking about the porn. Also, Katya from Snowbreak Containment Zone....I love her feet in the videos people post. Absolute kino!
Anyways, I do see some leaks of Chinese culture, like Black Myth Wukong.
Not strictly Chinese, but the game ANATA looks neat. I probably look into it if received well and its not gacha.
I think Chinese culture is a lot insular. They don't seems to make an active effort to include people. I think in the early years, Japanese culture was the same. It was restricted to the nerds and otakus, before it hit critical mass and became super popular. Maybe that will happen to China, though slower due political environment.

Chinese movies are slow and didactic, there's always a moral lesson to be learned at the end. That is not appealing to westoid minds, they need loud explosions and gun fights every 5 minutes and just nihilistic "badassery" without any ideological baggage
