why shouldn't I learn Akkadian
>>212984623 (OP)I've been stuck with russian with nastya's learn russian in 1 year lessons and easy german, I don't find the time to start Mandarin Chinese and bring it up to HSK 2 around the A2 level where I can watch easy youtube videos.
any advice for me?
If duolingo copied the nature method books millions of people would be fluent.

Where is the beginner friendly Italian comprehensible input content? Ideally with a northeastern accent, I don't want to pick up terroni pronunciation.
I'd pay so much for someone to make Dreaming Spanish but with Italian.
>>212986366funny you mention that, if you master Spanish, Italian is another Portuguese.
I should have no problem learning Italian, but I have no interest. I'm saving either French or Portuguese for last. or both.
I'd be another Spanish speaker who dabbles in Portuguese because its too easy. Portuguese Italian and French are meme languages and you get a bad reputation as a Latino for studying that.
>>212986472>Portuguese Italian and French are meme languages and you get a bad reputation as a Latino for studying that. It's the same for spanish in italy. If you are bad at everything in school the teachers will tell you to learn spanish. When you hear the words "you should learn spanish" you know it's over.

there is a world of telenovelas out there for immersion. you don't have to watch them all, personally I think they're mostly filler, and the Spanish is slightly off, as in novela Spanish has 1 or 2 words divorced from reality.
I think you're ready to start watching Televisa. you will never run out of content.
if you want easy Spanish, watch a Turkish soap opera in the Spanish dub.
if you want difficult, watch a soap in Colombian Spanish

>>212986633Anon, I don't want Spanish at all. I want Italian.
>>212986530I would learn Italian to speak proper Spanish better. But that is the number 1 reason I'm hesitant to learn anything from Europe. starting with French. I don't want to be looked down at.
I think some of my people deserve it, I certainly think in their defense the racism is out of bounds as well.
I still go on YouTube every day and teach myself German and Russian, one is actually useful at fetching me Euros, the other one will make me smarter and get me a wife.
I think I'd face racism if I learned mandarin as well. I would rather welcome you when you come here. enjoy the old world/ disfruta del viejo mundo. I thought about how going to a fancy ancient university would be nice and its just not worth it.
sorry about your Muslim problem. Latin Americans are not Arabs for the most part.

>>212986655huh, it was easier finding Rubi in French and Portuguese. it doesn't exist in Italian.

Laura Pausini has music in Italian.
>>212986530I meant to say in my eyes, Latin Americans who learn easy romance languages are pompous "intellectuals" and people form Argentina who in reality are low IQ monkeys.
both Portuguese and Italian are funny Spanish with Ch noises that don't belong.
I can't really build a strong argument for Spansih as a language for smart normal people who are sane but I seem to think so.
>>212986789Well yeah I can find random songs and tv shows no problem. But I'm talking about comprehensible input, and none of that stuff is comprehensible to a beginner. If I could start out understanding tv shows then I wouldn't be here.
Look what this girl does for Japanese https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC5RHt8unAI
I'm looking for that with Italian, but the closest I've found is that nature method book.
>>212987007That "girl" has two children btw. Have you checked the comprehensible input wiki? I don't think something as comprehensive as even cijapanese (which is 1/15 the size it should be to be good) exists for italian.
I think you have to make your own CI by using intensive reading tools (yomitan/lingq/language reactor etc)
>>212987007Lel and you're fucking an Italian girl mate.
That which you call "comprahensible input" are baby steps. Not even babies need those training wheels.
you need balls to learn a language, and if you can't find "comprehensible input" in Italian, its because racism is gatekeeping the country from auslander like Latin Americans and Arabs, and in this case you.
I didn't even have YouTube or Google translate when I taught myself English.
>>212987116Yeah I have, believe me it's fucking grim. Half of it is podcasts, which obviously provide no context whatsoever to give comprehension, and the rest are some retard talking to a camera with subtitles, which also gives no context clues.
I did add DeepL to Calibre to try reading Italian books but I end up having to translate so much that I'm not even reading the Italian, I'm just reading a shitty English translation.

>>212988303I'm not exactly sure what kind of "comprehensible input" you're looking for. Easy Italian on youtube is too difficult/easy for you?
Usually people just recommend starting with children tv shows. Löwenzahn for German learners for example. I assume there are classic Italian kids shows too.
>>212988303https://www.youtube.com/@GiuliaAlPolo/videos
Giulia speaks quite clearly and uses simple sentences.
Also there are surprising amount of videos of Japanese living in Italy and vice versa.
They tend to use simple sentence structure when speaking Italian.
If you can stand a heavy Japanese accent you could check out Erikottero
https://www.youtube.com/@ERIKOTTERO/videos
>>212988412I'm looking for an Italian equivalent of the Japanese video I linked, or the Dreaming Spanish program. Beginner level comprehensible input.
Easy Italian has hardcoded subs on their videos, and if you block the subs you see that they don't actually use context clues like pointing, drawing, etc. to make the meaning clear, they just speak slowly. And then they have videos where they do the same thing, just speak more quickly.
>>212988478I mean it's neat but this isn't a language teaching channel at all.
>>212988542Start with Coffee Break Italian on Spotify then

>>212988542Man, you're whiny.
>>212988646I'm just looking for one specific thing, and people keep responding by talking about something that isn't that thing. I don't know why the fuck language learners always do this no matter where I ask, even to the point that one retard in this thread kept talking about a totally different language, but it's fucking annoying.
Beginner level doesn't mean tv shows or music for natives, it means something that is understandable to someone who has never heard a word of the target language.
Comprehensible input doesn't mean translation, grammar books, or flashcards, it means input that is comprehensible - with context clues making up for the lack of language skills.
Italian doesn't mean spanish, it means Italian.
Do you go to a thread on /o/ about pickup trucks and start recommending hatchbacks? Do you go to a thread on /tv/ about Hong Kong action flicks and start recommending Shrek?
If you start saying things that aren't what I'm looking for then why are you offended that I say that's not what I'm looking for?
And if what I'm looking for doesn't exist then just say so instead of shit that would require me to be B1 level already.
>>212988542Probably doesn't exist.
Weebs and Spanish learners are probably more likely to part with their money than anyone else lol.
>>212988969Genuinely just watch Pocoyo. It's my go to show for any new language because it's just pocoyo and friends doing things with some dialogue between characters, but it's mostly a narrator that is giving a general overview of what is happening.

Debating between Swedish or German … :/
nobody uses this general because you only allow methods that don't work. ALG should be the only method in the OP, like dreamingspanish and cijapanese
you should do literally nothing other than visual CI for the first 600-800 hours. Period. If you have a problem with that, then you're uneducated or a shill for some eceleb method.
>>212994949Fags like to shill methods that don't work because they wasted thousands of hours of misery on them and it would make them feel like failures to drop it. Meanwhile they have egregiously bad accents and waste time on grammar rules in their head.
ALG should be the only method used by any teacher.
>>212994870Swedish is easier but still relevant in many cases. German is harder but more universal

I wouldn't know firsthand.
>>213002416Well I guess you could do RTK or something. But even one-kanji words, like 間, can have the same kanji. Sometimes it's pronounced as あいだ, other times it's ま. I have considered learning Korean purely because I have a rather morbid curiosity with regards to the DPRK.
I don't particularly care about the South, or anything it shits out.
Both seem like very fucked nations in their own regards.
Are there any resources that focus mainly on North Korean Korean?

>>213008926i've noticed that norks pronounce words differently in a systematic way. e.g. sorks say "yori" for cooking while the norks pronounce it "ryori". sorks say "yook" for 6 while the norks pronounce it "ryook". they often at the r/l consonant to the beginning of hanja characters where the sorks have dropped it.
and they have some phrasal differences too.
>>213009021>sorks say "yori" for cookingKorean and Japanese belong to the same language family and the only reason this isn't an established fact is political enimity between the two countries.
Change my mind.
>>213008926Supposedly there is some Russian and Chinese loan words, but the way in which they pronounce some things are different.

But actually his english is surprisingly choppy for a such a prominent journo. Expected way better. I mean Merz speaks way better and he's much older.
Ich habe angefangen, zu "Tandem" verwenden. Ich halte es für gute Schriftausübung, Unterhalten sich mit einer Fräulein ist ein heftiger Anreiz.

>>213030218Pic related (from the book "Speak German!" by Wolf Schneider).
~60 per cent of Germans can't really speak English, 40 per cent might at best speak a bit of English they learnt in school or for business, and about 10 per cent speak it in such a capacity, that you can say "they speak English".
And despite the internet and social media, it probably won't get any better.
>>213026812>It's not even that I don't like the language, because I do, but I'm just not keen on it right now; don't have the passion for it.You unlock "passion" once you make enough progress to feel good about what you're doing. This switcharoo shit is the beginner's curse, it only happens to people that overthink at the start and haven't put enough time into the hobby to get any meaningful results. Learn the top 1000 most common words, read one (1) graded reader from start to finish, understand a TL video from start to finish, get through one movie or tv show episode while doing lookups, put 100 hours of effort into your TL, achieve any kind of meaningful milestone and you will feel good about it. Is French that hard to listen to for people who are native speakers of romance languages? I know Spanish, but I'm not a native speaker of it. I know a few French words and, when watching a Netflix dib in French for fun occasionally, recognize a good amount of words that sound like Spanish ones without having studied the language, so it's not as others describe where the sounds whiz past your ears and you can't tell where one word ends and another begins.
This isn't a humblebrag, just genuinely curious if maybe it'd be even easier for an actual native speaker of Spanish or Portuguese or Italian or similar.
