Yea french make very good vydia. Thief 4 and Solasta were made in france and I enjoyed both.

Oh come on its a good game. Dishonored and dark messiah are also very good. My overall favorite french game is solasta and Im waiting for the second game to come out.

If you really honestly enjoyed it then it's all good, and that's what matters.
I don't know if you played the first 2 Thief games but they're really different. They were impressive for their time and the fourth game basically abandonned a lot of what made it good for a more cinematic, linear approach. That's why it's not very well received among Thief fans. Try the first games one of these days, they're really good.
Never played Solasta though, I will check it out!
