Berbers were badass desert wizard tribes it's a damn shame the mozzies steamrolled them. Parts of their culture persist in Morocco; I'm sure out in the distant mountains there are areas that still have their charm and power, though I've only been to Moroccan cities so far.

IIRC Morocco has an unironical magic school or college of some sorts. I remember reading about that once. Like some sort of university of occultism, not that occultism exists as a degree on the whole country but just one institution like that in the country
