>>213026976>No swamp or subtropical/tropical areas, lush forests. These humid biomes (tropical and subtropical) are disgustingly stifling and expendable. High relative humidity has never been comforting. Nigga climate; that's why the East Coast is full of nigga people, haha
Much better is the humid temperate rainforest biome and the temperate oceanic climate; and you have them from northern California to British Columbia, Canada. This climate is epic, comforting and its geography is much more dramatic, scenic and entertaining than the boring, stifling (and even poisonous) tropical and subtropical biomes.
>>213027232>looks shit. a city basically needs plains continuous to the sea shore to activate the maritime trading.and basins like this usually make it cold in winter and hot in summer.
Flat terrain isn't aesthetically pleasing compared to California's dramatic, scenic, and rugged Mediterranean coasts. It's stupid to think that a city has to be flat to thrive on maritime trade with all the technology, mechanics, and motorization available. Your fallacy doesn't even hold true in ancient times: the Mediterranean (absolutely steep and mountainous coasts) experienced for centuries one of the most successful maritime trades in human history.
It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer, you fool. In any case, California is MUCH more pleasant in the summer than the humid, stifling hell of the Japanese summer, especially Tokyo.
