That being said, if you look at Japan's history, they actually kept to themselves. Outside of Yamato's expedition to Baekje (which ended disastrously), the wokou pirate raids (not all of them were Japanese, there were many Chinese and even a Mongolian based on 1 leader's name), and Hideyoshi's invasion, they actually have a better track record in living with their neighbors than Europeans and MENA did.
It wasn't until 1894 when they decided to emulate Western imperialism and went full psycho (they didn't have a democracy but were lead by a military oligarchy) that we saw some truly heinous shit.
And let's not pretend we didn't slaughter and oppress millions of non-whites and even our fellow whites like Irish under the British or Polish under the Russians, Germans, and Austrians.
