The real TRVKE is that brown commoners actually loved colonies and clustered around colonial settlements because they were hubs of order, business, infrastructure, that were unseen in their own ethnic parts of the region. To this day the most developed part of any 3rdie country is the colonial epicenter.

Colonists were forced out by local elites, nobles, who greedily didn't want to share power, not by commoner uprising. Which is why commoners chased them back to their own home countries to try to continue doing the same thing: holding their hat out and collecting easy money.
