They currently cannot do them because the judicial power in Israel is very strong and can stop any assignments to jobs that they deem to be "political assignments" (a judicial reform is a whole other issue, which I support but not in the way Bibi wants). Also, Israeli deep state is very much a real thing, senior govenment workers have immense power here and can put sticks in the wheels of the government if they deem an action to be destructive.
It would also be hard for that to happen because the strongest Israeli institution, which is the bank of Israel, is completely independent from the government.
I am a right wing libertarian and the thing that I care about the most is secularism, I want to live in a country that has a constitution (we don't) and has a clear distinction between religion and state, but unfortunately most Israelis vote through very narrow lens of "for 2SS or against"
