also nobody fucking lived there apart from a few cities in new mexico. there are infinitely more mexicans in these places today than there ever was.
mexico didn't have "cities" in california or arizona or nevada or oregon, they were backwater villages at best. even the USA mostly ignored california until they found gold.
>>213042645 >How much actual control did the Mexicans have over this area?
For 90% of Mexican history arguably up until today the Mexican government didn't effectively control any part of Mexico outside Mexico City.

Yes bro, I feel people hate on Mexicans too much online but Mexicans also have to realize they lost their land. Also the land ceded to the USA barely had people living there

Mexicans and Spaniards kept getting smoked by Comanches.
All the Hispanics in the region ditched Mexico to join the California/Texas/US the moment they saw it possible.

You lost the war against Texas. Texas eventually decided to join us. You then forced the issue and we took out your army and occupied your capital until you agreed to let us have west of Fort Bliss be part of America. We even later paid you to buy the Gadsen purchase. We paid for that land with blood and gold, and you're acting just like Ziggers claiming it belongs to you because you had it once.
>>213046209 >w-we weren’t mad bro, that’s why we totally didn’t launch a 20-year war, waste trillions, and get clowned by dudes in sandals with 40-year-old rifles

Barley any control from what I recall reading, the Comanche and Apache were still roaming around murdering Mexican settlers and largely laughed off at any state authority trying to control them. I think the USA itself only got that region under full control in the 1870s.
