No nigger you are just mad at us because you are trying to impose us the idea that we are the same when we clearly are not, and we don't ignore our racial heritage we are pretty concious we are mixed(mulattoes) for the most part so yeah we aknowledge that, but thats it, we are our own thing.

Why is it that americans especially nigger americans care so much about race? Seriously 90% of the time is always someone like that who brings up that subject out of the blue, like really we dominicans usually don't talk nor mention that kind of question or remarks about someone else race, we mostly judge by the character and/or socioeconomic status.

Whenever they mention we are black, it feels like they are asking for validation just to mix with us, feels weird and desperate.

I don't think it's so much about rejecting their African heritage as it is rejecting "black" as a cultural identity, which makes sense given that they have more in common with other Latinos than they do with black Americans. They're not the only ones who reject that label either. Africans who immigrate to America also don't like being lumped in with blacks.
