i first got internet at home in 2004 (although i had been going to pc clubs with internet before that). it was 15mbps up/down and the ISP had its own local torrent tracker for movies and games.

City centres had cable/HFC in the early 00s but that was about the best it got.

We've moved to fibre since, but it took government intervention. The fibre network is government owned now.

My family had internet in the our house in the late 90s IIRC, but I didn't start using it properly until I was 11 or 12. When I was about 8 I tried sending an email to shigerumiyamoto@nintendo.com saying how much I loved Mario 64
More so I long for a time when there were less people on the internet in general. Pre 2010 was probably peak
