it's got a nice metro, gothic stalinist buildings, old tsarist buildings, modernist buildings, detached homes from different periods, lots of things to do. it's weird and intimidating at first but its soul once you understand it.
the thing I don't like about america and western countries is there's nothing to do. there are no parks or public places or groups for people to gather and then go on a metro to the park, start a campfire, get some beers, play on a guitar in a band, go to a random dudes house to play board games. I feel it is impossible to meet people or do anything, like there's a train culture and people socialize on their 2000km train ride and you do fun things, trains in america are only for brown/homeless people. People just live in their own gated communities and commute to work and don't interact with anyone outside that or do anything, maybe it's only because I am my ethnicity in my country and it's relatively high trust
