All gay jokes aside, Seychelles has a great and unique design. The best thing about it is the extremely simple and pleasing geometric relationship among the sectors.

It's a 2:3 flag, and the lines fan out up and right, which makes sense as flight. The lines terminate right at the "third" points on either side. And since it's a 2:3 flag, it works out that all four triangular elements have EXACTLY the same area, EXCEPT that the central red quadrilateral is exactly TWICE as big, for the same reson. Thus, the elements are in the extremely simple relationship: 1:1:2:1:1, adding up to the flag's total area of 6, multiplying its base 2x3 aspect. And it accomplishes this with four dynamic, distinct lines.

Simple and WITH soul is the best imo. I don't like a flag to be too cluttered and complicated. It should be visible from a distance or, as one anon once put it, simple enough that a child can draw it. I thought that was a pretty good yardstick. But yeah a lot of these new designs are completely soulless and that's even worse, even if they meet my other criteria.

I like Guam because of the simple, kinda "childish" design. Yeah, it's a tropical island in the sun with palm trees and coconuts and a little boat sailing by, why would the flag depict anything else? Also the colors are very pleasing.
