if you don't want to live abroad or have a strong interest in English-language media, I don't think you need it here. If I had grown up in Japan I probably wouldn't have gone beyond whatever they made me learn in school.

Japanese media and entertainment is self sufficient and self contained. They don't need the latest Yankee Marvel slop or lgbtq vidya games. Most other countries learn English to consume Yank slop. Mine uses English due to history.

Anon, Nips are one of the biggest Yankee cumslurpers in existence, surpassed only by Koreans. Nips and Koreans are the only nations I am aware of who needlessly use English in daily interactions and life, without even knowing the language itself. In Russian language you can encounter some English word used quite rarely, like "ok", but nobody is crazy enough to say "I love you" unironically, something that Nips are prone to do.

I have never watched a single episode of hentai, I watch stuff like Kurosawa and Kore-eda. I have seen 1000+ movies overall across different nations, always watching them with subtitles and with the original dub, and no one else uses English as often in normal speech as you do.

Why don't you learn Japanese? It's easier for an English learner to learn Japanese than it is for a Japanese speaker to learn English. That's how fucking hard it is for them and some still do it anyway.
