The government brought into effect the Online Safety Act, which forces you to prove you're 18 to access 18+ material. But since the government are complete retards, you can get around this by doing something as simple as googling a photo of a UK driving licence or getting Sora to generate one, and then just uploading that.
4chan isn't affected by it though.

Western countries don't order ISPs to block "illegal" websites like China or Russia do, they instead rely on punishment for non-compliance. That means companies who have zero presence in the UK and never will have a presence in the UK, like 4Chan Community Support LLC, can just ignore the law since there's no way to enforce any punishment.
