>>213402721You people focus on the wrong facts. Yes the state can declare cash worthless with a snap of their fingers. That's true and yes if I can't use my cash in stores it's worthless as well. But let's talk about the differences between cash and card.
Cash is something you can hold, that you can own and spend without the need of a third party. Everything cash you have you will still have, even if the state decides to feeze you account. And if shops still take cash, then you have an alternative means of payment, meaning I still have the freedom to affort and buy stuff, without the need to be part of a third system. And even if the shop doesn't take cash I can still have the freedom to another store.
With a card your money is basically a digital number in a computer system. It makes it easier to pay, but now if the state freezes your accounts, you're basically fucked. You can't go to a store and buy stuff, since you have no alternative means of payment, so you have to do the bitting of your state or the company in order to get your money back.
That's why I said cash is freedom, because if you have it and there are people who take it, then there no laverage to force you to follow shit. This is also why they try to take this away from you. Yes cashless payment is more convenient, but it's not worth it to throw away freedom for it.
>>213402912Look oldtimer. I don't say cashless payment is completely useless and yes for larger orders it makes more sense to use a card instead of a suitcase full of money. Still going towards a completely cashless society is very problematic to the indivitual freedom of everyone.
