It's crazy how half of Europe as recently as 1989 was under such a cartoonishly dystopian regime that it constructed a wall to prevent Easterners from catching a glimpse of the non-shithole half of the continent

>you WILL live in the rat infested commiebloc that has even worse living conditions than a victorian shanty town
>you WILL be forced to get a passport just to go to another part of your own country
>you WILL let the government tell you where you're allowed to work and have all other jobs or opportunities denied you
>you WILL wipe with leaves and newspapers because there's a toilet paper shortage
>you WILL let your shit infested toilet sit and stink for two weeks straight because there's a plumber shortage

How do you tards actually delude yourselves into believing that eastern bloc states were secretly good places to live?

Tbf in Yugoslavia they could already emigrate because we didn't have movement restrictions. A good deal of Yugoslavia's economy was based on remittances from West Germany. Unsurprisingly people here got disillusioned with communism very quickly

Good thing once the walls fell everything became rosy, all laggards became prosperous and there was no mass emigration. Oh, wait... What's your unemployment rate, again?

Yeah, exactly, so your genius reaction was to break the wall BEFORE you solved those problems, so that you would have even more problems to deal with. Have you seen your country's economy in the 90s, have you seen your unemployment after 1991? Or what about your GDP per capita after 2008? You are as rich today as you were in 2008, you are going to have an anniversary of a 20 years long stagnation and you still go back to bootlick the system that kicked you in the nuts several times. How many socialist regimes had a 20 years long stagnation?

My friend I wasn't even alive at the time. And I was just saying that the country was pretty shit because it had to build a wall to keep everyone from leaving it.
>How many socialist regimes had a 20 years long stagnation?
Soviet Union has a time literally called the Era of Stagnation that lasted almost exactly 20 years lol

Under Socialism shortages are a GOOD THING because things aren't produced for profit, they are produced to be given away to all people.

Look how in any supermarket in the West items that are on discount go ''out of stock'' in a heartbeat, now apply that same logic to all the items in a socialist supermarket and there you have ''shortages''.

It did not. I speak Russian and I read several books on Soviet economy, one of them by none other than fucking Gaidar, one of the first Russian prime ministers under Yeltsin and one of the most liberal Russian ministers in existence. What it had in reality was an era of slow growth. Here is your fucking ENGLISH Wikipedia right here, do you see economic stagnation? It's called an era of stagnation largely because of the lack of domestic reforms rather the complete lack of growth. Meanwhile your country has had actual 0% growth for the last 17 years

It's true. A british economist who lived in the USSR in the 20s noted that the Soviet Union had tripled the production of shoes compared to Tsarist Russia but people in the streets in Moscow and Saint Petersburg were lamenting the fact that stores were out of shoes. Why? Because now everybody could afford to buy shoes, even the poorest peasants who got shoes for the first time in their lives. Before only the middle and upper class could buy them, so there were shoes in the stores because they were out of reach to most people price-wise, that's what gives the illusion of ''abundance'' under capitalism, you produce less stuff but it's more expensive so more stuff will stay on the shelves = idiots will mistake that for abundance

Closed borders are important for workers of all countries. They are important for shitholes because they suffer from brain drain and in rarer cases labour shortages, meanwhile closed borders are usually good for developed countries as well, unless they have extremely low unemployment rate, because immigration helps the capital the most by inflating the value of assets and by keeping the wages down. It's a standard socialist talking point, I am surprised Swedes are retarded enough not to know it.

The fuck you mean not fast enough, today Bulgarians earn 1300 euros on average vs 1600 for Portuguese and half as much as Spaniards or Italians. And Bulgarians are the poorest members of the EU! Those who have low unemployment rate are doing relatively fine. Countries like Ukraine are fucked because regardless of losing millions of people they still have an army of unemployed people, it's hard for purchasing power to grow when businesses have an army of excessive labourers competing for limited jobs. You need either productivity gains or low unemployment to experience actual wage growth.
