The city schools where I live have an after school laundry service run by local volunteers. Kids can take their clothes to be cleaned because some parents care so little about their children that they won't even wash their clothes. I'm talking about kindergarten to 2nd grade aged kids. It's sad. Needless to say those same deadbeat parents definitely aren't teaching their kids proper hygiene.

I was raised sorta feral and maybe had one shower and bath every 2 months. I slept with no sheets and never brushed my teeth. It wasn't until I was 10 I started doing that stuff myself. My clothes were washed though.

Yet IRL nobody ever complained about how I stunk or smelt. I'm not sure if kids don't naturally smell or if everyone was too polite to tell me.
