English sounds higher and more whiney than Portuguese so I guess we speak in a lower frequency

Do you know that you can just try and speak in a lower deeper voice and after some time it will become your normal pitch
>>213435361
Same with English and Russian.

Lower number means lower average frequency. Last column is the frequency difference between men and women.

Some of these languages seem higher than this given I easily hear and note that they're high pitch compared to English. Spanish seems higher. Or perhaps it depends on the variety of Spanish.

Perhaps my perception is influenced by other factors as well e.g. speed.

Japanese men speaking English always sound incredibly feminine.

European Portuguese from what I've heard is very low, it's noticeable in women, but I'm not sure about other varieties. I can't recall if they sounded normal or not.

Pitch in Portuguese

Male average pitch (F0):
Around 115โ€“125 Hz, similar to Spanish and slightly above English.

Female average pitch (F0):

Actually considering different peoples tend to be different sizes, wouldn't this impact comfortable pitch range.

My voice is very low pitch according to a Doc.
Accompanied mother for a Doc visit and he made that remark, he was surprised.
Guess he expected I had a higher pitch as a Chinese.

In my head though my voice is perfectly balanced and that is all that matters.

For me it's
English>Swedish>Finnish in descending order of pitch. Although I'm one of those people who speaks Finnish exclusively through extremely heavy vocal fry so it's hard to say, you could say my Finnish voice is powered by vocal fry instead of air.
