there were a few cases that became popular on the internet in the US about nogs who carjacked someone driving a manual and they had to abandon the car because they kept stalling. in the US a lot of country boys would know how to drive a manual and a lot of older people in general. a lot of city people wouldn’t know how. any car they’d drive would be an automatic since no one wants a manual in stop and go traffic. The only advantages of manual is being more simple and cheaper to repair, especially that new CVT crap they pushing, and you get to choose what gear and rpms you want. Useful when you go uphill or want to drive fast.

i go between both like nothing. i love autos for their kickdown and torque converter/stall speed, its such a rush to just floor it and hear all the mechanical thingywingys and doodads doing everything it can to keep your engine in the power band and just feel the constant acceleration. i also love manuals since if its a diesel like all my last cars have been i just need 6th gear anyway.
