Memes aside I never got why Paraná is considered Southern Brazil, when it has basically nothing in common with Santa Catarina or Rio Grande do Sul. It’s more like São Paulo than anything.

I don't know, most of Paraná has a very strong Polish and Ukrainian colono culture in the countryside, while also having the same climate and biome as Santa Catarina and northern RS. Plus it also has a lot of German and Gaúcho colonies too, it's just not as Italian as SC and RS.

have you ever even been to SC? I'm from here, and the most populated regions (near the coast) are all very mixed, and german isn't even a common ancestry among the population, it's mostly azorean/portuguese mutts
the only places where germans are predominant are in very small towns in the interior which are a minority, even here in santa catarina
