Every other mediterranean people had the same stories about them, it's not a cohincidence. Plus semites did practice mass child sacrifice, the punics probably just kept this tradition

I don't know if I would call it an empire, it showed no intention of integrating its colonies and dominions as constituent parts of its political elite like the Romans did, not even on their home turf: during the Mercenary War only two Lybian cities stayed faithful to Carthage, which goes to show that they really saw them only as tributaries and treated them as such

The presumed qualities of the Syrians and other Asiatic peoples which earn them the description of having been born for slavery are: servility, effeminacy, perversity. Homosexuality, self-castration, perverted cults are all associated with this presumed lack of masculinity. They were no fighters, it was thought

Every single ancient people that met with Phoenicians said they do child sacrifice, from Romans to Judeans to Greeks

Not even that, the literal cemeteries for the child sacrifices have been found in Carthage, cemeteries which have funeral inscriptions thanking the babies for giving their lives for the rain to end the drought or whatever

It's such an undisputed fact that it's legitimately ridiculous to suggest that they didn't sacrifice children
