The word "legal" doesn't make any sense since they can arbitrarily decide what's legal and what's not so you have people born in the country being designated as non-citizens because some muh occupation 100 years ago. It's obviously illegal and goes against human rights and they've been scolded by even the UN and EU who didn't do anything about it because their hatred is more important than any principles they might have. If that were to happen in any other country it would be a massive scandal but it's okay if injustice is done to russians because they're evil or something even though they don't force liberated oinkrainians to sign the same loyalty pledge. For some reason a student being deporting from US for being pro-hamas got a lot more media coverage than latvian government going out of their way and bullying a veteran who wanted to be left alone and wasn't part of any political movement
