I actually wish Finnish orthography and alphabet weren't based on Swedish.
Swedish isn't visually or aesthetically pleasing.

Only the alphabet is almost the same, we don't use å. Spelling is very much different like shrimp salad in Swedish is räksallad and if it was written like in Finnish it would be reeksallad, suddenly the ä becomes streched e and Finnish has none of these abnormalities. Also they have that weird back of the mouth h which doesn't even exist in Finnish-Swedish and these weird mid vowels like between y and u and they don't have vowel harmony. It's completely different.

Most languages that I know something about seem to have a phonetic writing system at least to some extent. Latin languages, Slavic languages, Japanese, Korean etc.

But then through some strange cosmic joke, the global language that everyone uses is the one where due, dew and do are pronounced the same way. I guess at least it's not Chinese
