I consulted my can of tuna in oil and it said Vietnam so that is what I'm going for, but it tends to be either of these two depending on the batch or brand I happen to get, and I order whichever is cheapest at the time, it comes in packs of 24 cans generally.

These two nations are the chunk light tuna GOATs, divided by flag or history or politics o algo, but united by very cheap yet surprisingly good quality tuna. Tards wrangle themselves into buying bluefin and yellowfin and whatever the other one is, but a true tunasseur knows that the chunk light has the least mercury per serving since it comees from smaller fish, and thus, you can eat five cans per week without exceeding your recommended mercury limit, and that it is also some of the cheapest meat you can get anywhere in the US.

pho/banh mi are just our equivalent to fast food which are only eaten for breakfast.
normal viet cuisine doesn't have much exposure to foreigners because 1) there's little marketability/profitability for diaspora to open trad viet restaurants and 2) viets still only cook for their own family, so most see little need to eat the same stuff at home when they go out to eat.
