It cannot be directly compared to Russia because of the obvious difference in size, climate and so on, but it feels kinda like an improved Ukraine. I often meet Ukrainians here and ask them what they like in Poland the most and they say that Poland is just what they want Ukraine to be like, so you still recognize your own country in it but everything is better, salaries are livable, infrastructure is good, but most people are still white Slavs and there is still a degree of mismanagement, corruption, laziness, drunk driving etc. which just makes this place feel like a proper, living country with pros and cons, and not like some fake disneylandish nursing home like Germany. Basically mentality is 100% Slav/eastern European, except there is just more money in the country and it's more equally distributed among the population. I've even met a number of Ukrainians who lived in the west, Germany, NL, France etc., yet they returned to Poland, because they couldn't stand the western way of life, not being able to flush the toilet after 10pm or not having window curtains or a fence before your house.
