For history, we had an Italian teacher, who would always talk about how bad WW2 was and the evil stuff Italy did.

Kids in the class would always argue Hitler had the right ideas and that the Holocaust was exaggerated. I don't think this could ever happen in Europe, in that kids could argue about what was being taught or have a different opinion than the curriculum. Then again, the younger kids are, the more they push back against the narrative of WW2/Holocaust.

Yes. I took Honors Sociology and it was one of the funniest experiences in my life. Since it was high school, kids still had no filter and could pretty much say whatever they wanted. We also had a slightly chuddy teacher which allowed such discourse to happen without le "SHUTTING IT DOWN".
