I just moved to Australia a few days ago.

My first impressions:
Everything is clean, nice, and new (at least where I am).
Everyone drives recent model cars.
People seem happy and friendly.
It's sweltering hot considering it's the middle of winter.
The housing situation is horrendous.
The city is basically a network of malls with chain stores connected by trains and motorways, and a CBD where people wageslave.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Australia is a paradise and more people (especially in India and China) should know about it. Thanks OP for spreading awareness about the heaven down under.

Brisbane, right? Because 9C isn't sweltering, no matter what cold shithole you're from.

that's only people who are wealthy enough to drive to the city.
the rest of us cattle can't do that.

New cars are everywhere, they're just not impressive. It's just soulless econoboxes like Hyundai, Kia and BYD. The major cities are the only place you really see brand new luxury cars however, nobody in a regional city is going to be getting around in a top spec Mercedes S Class or Maybach.

90% live within about 2 hours of major cities, if that's what you mean. There are smaller cities spread around as well and they usually have about 100k or so people in them, which is not much.

I've lived here all my life.
I see trash and graffiti everywhere, I have a car from 1996, every 3rd person I know is clinically depressed or has a family member that just killed themselves and it's going to be 5 celsius tonight.
But yeah the housing is pretty bad and I don't really understand what a city is aside from a cluster of shops.

Pretty much, id move countries if I wasn't autistic and dependent on welfare. Also we have a very anti-social culture here so it's hard to meet anyone.

Other countries are worse, we actually have things really good here. People don't realize that until they finally leave for a while. Chances are you also live in kind of a shitty city, you can find really good people in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. I found that Sydney and Perth have the most anti-social/rude people.

t. have lived overseas and in most states here

That's a good point. I currently live in area of chinks and they tend to not buy new econoboxes. Although I have been in areas where that happens.

When I say to the city, I mean the CBD where all of the offices are.
A lot of us live in Sydney, but we are all in the suburbs since this place is an urban sprawl hellhole where it takes you 1.5hrs to commute by public transport and 2 hours by car.

This is what I see everytime I go to visit my grandma in the country. She lives in Clare and every single town on the way there is a pub with a blonde girl server, old guy who owns the place and a dozen Indians cooking in the back. How the fuck did they even get there?

Welcome, now you need to grapple with these two facts:
>You will never be accepted as a true Australian. A piece of paper means nothing. You don't have the accent, the worldview, the childhood memories and the soul of the nation
>Your home country, its culture, language and people are not as good as Australia's, so you must now discuss your home country with a sense of shame and embarrassment
No, eating a democracy sausage and saying 'geeday mate' will not instill you with ANZAC values and the understanding that Australians have unparalleled greatness in world history

Australia is a nation of coddled man children who have never learned what suffering and hardship really is. I mean, how could they when even the poorest Australians are in the wealthiest 10 percent? If you don't have money, you can go to Centrelink. If you work at a servo, you can afford to eat almost anything your heart desires. If you want to own land, all you have to do is apply yourself a bit in school and you can save up enough money relatively easily. Meanwhile, in the developing world no such privileges exist. In the developing world, food is actually valuable. Surviving is non-trivial.
