I told her I used a coffee press. She asked me how do you use a coffee press. I told her quite simply what should be obvious to anyone with half a braincell firing: you add ground coffee to your press, you pour hot water on top and you press down to separate the grounds. And then she asked me why. Why do you have to use a press because coffee melts. She thought instant coffee and ground coffee were the same thing and so I had to explain to her what coffee was.
