My opinion on unitedstatesians is quite positive, especially with regards to firearms culture. Open carry is quite based, and concealed carry is a basic human right.

However I intensely dislike their government, it's like a caricature of what the US is traditionally seen as and they're being led by an idiot.

Calm down. Most western euros live in a perfect bubble, they've surrendered all their liberties away and pretend that the government can protect them from all harm. Thus, if anything bad happens to them, it has to be a situation that they can fight their way out of using just their physical abilities, of which their government has not yet disarmed them. Anything else would have them confronted with the fact that they live in a massive open air prison, and it's too uncomfortable a thought to face directly.
