For non-Ameribros, let me make it a bit more clear: Frats and srats are quite literally a way for 1st year college kids to pay money for friends. Instead of forming connections organically, they pay a hefty sum to join a structured group where there are regular organized activities to facilitate the "shared experiences" typically needed to form friendships. You do get "connections" this way which helps in things like job searching after you graduate, but that's about it as far as tangible benefits go.
Oh, and I guess you get easier access to normshart parties where you *might* be able to pull some drunk 7/10 vapid Stacy pussy (pre-owned). That's about it.
There are also "high-tier" and "low-tier" frats, which supposedly offer better/worse networking and throw bigger/smaller parties. No, this isn't a joke.
