Throughout my childhood, I've been mistaken for an Indian, or Arab, or rarely Southern European. Despite the fact that I was born, Filipino, I look like my dad, and my dad is Filipino, my mom is Filipino. Why does this keep happening?

My first crush was a half-Spanish, half-Filipina girl. Mind you this was when I was like 8 so I didn't know what the heck that country was so to me she just looked mildly exotic
