All Europeans called that city that way until 100 years ago. It was only after Turkey's diplomatic offensive that the name was changed. Similar to the case of Iran (Persia) or what Indians now want to be called Bharat. In fact, Turkey recently expressed a desire to be called Turkiye. Constantinople must be liberated.
