my grandfather is the CEO of a well known company and is a multimillionaire, but our family has always lived humbly and even he doesn't display his wealth.
I've never taken a dime from him and had to earn my own money, but the one good thing about being exposed to that level of wealth was that I learned how to be financially literate and have always lived comfortably.

I noticed that I'm more refined than the average local. Granted I had access to good education from an extremely young age. You'll never see me perform commoner habits such as picking my nose, shaking my legs impatiently and spitting on the ground. Sometimes interacting with the common filipino feels like am entirely different species.

My dad runs one of the largest manpower companies in the country but we never flaunt our wealth unlike the nouveau-riche. Instead we quietly invest than post about it on social media.

Not Australian btw
Grew up with better access to "culture" and parents who were simply better at giving me life advice, basically. I grew up speaking 4 languages because my family are all multilingual purely thanks to education and I've always been financially secure because my dad has been teaching me how to keep my shit sorted since I was a teenager. We aren't billionaires, but we've always been well off enough to travel frequently, eat at nice restaurants, and attend elite schools.

I’m a commoner but have brushed shoulders with the rich, most of the cliches are true they like horseback riding golf etc also joining fraternities like the masons is a must.

I grew up in a single parent household in an inner city London tower block, but I have white privilege or something so I don't suffer.

my parents bought me an apartment in a big city here when i was 18 which made me already more privileged than 95% of people of my age, since i already had a place to live and didn't have to spend money on rent/mortgage, i could start investing everything i earned so at the end i managed to buy a bigger apartment + have decent savings in cash/stocks

life became way too easy after that, sometimes i need to pretend that i have it worse than i really do because other people would get butthurt that i had it so lightly in my life

i want to say that my family wasn't especially wealthy at all, just i was the only child in the family + my parents exhibited this eastern European boomer mentality so they invested everything they had in my future, they would never go for vacations or buy anything for themselves but every saved zloty was transferred to an account where they kept money to finally buy me that apartment

on the other hand, i had a fucked up childhood because while my friends could boast about vacations in Greece or Italy, we would visit our grandma in the countryside at best. But at the end it paid off.

I'm a commoner myself, but I live in an area in Tel Aviv where the most rich and successful people in Israel live, and I got to see it from up close since I'm friends with their children

Most are surprisingly humble, one of my best friends is the grandson of one, and he's extremely humble and down to earth type of guy, like his entire family.
My friend was also dating the daughter of a billionaire, they were surprisingly humble too, they did not flaunt their wealth in other people's faces and were humble and down to earth

Only the single digit millionaires buy luxury cars and cloths, and actively flaunt their wealth while being annoying about it, truly rich people try to hide it as much as possible

around here the millionaires buy brand new cars for their 17 year old kids and they tell the cops to drive by and check you out if you walk through their neighborhood at night.

My mother was a drug addict and had mental issues, she was cut off from the family and raised me by herself up until I was a teenager and the rest of the family started opening back up to us. I slept on couches and mattresses on the floor of one bedroom apartments my entire childhood.
My cousin got pampered for sure. He was the safe, academic kid and I was more wild. They paid for his tuition to college and I joined the military.

Not privileged but I had a very well off friend due to him being the son of the boss my dad worked for. I had the cops called on me when I walked through his affluent neighborhood as a latinx to get to his home. He would visit my humble home instead after that lol

i never got clothes as a kid. I got mine from my brothers. If they broke I had to wear them the entire time till I grew out of them. I once wore sandals with socks, shorts, broken underwear for an entire winter (back then there was snow).
Never ate out with family. Always home cooked meals. Never had any paid hobbies. Never had Xbox live. Never went on vacation. Constant fighting due to financial stress. Lived in a neighbourhood ghetto where the old white people slowly got replaced by Moroccans and Afghans.
What a dog's life.

People can't even imagine that there are ghettos in Northern Europe like Sweden or Netherlands. Usually, poor areas in South Korea or Japan are densely populated by Chinese or Southeast Asian workers and immigrants.
