Well, sure — think about the kind of people who immigrated to America versus the ones who stayed in Europe. Any charismatic person, any go-getter, definitely immigrated to America between 1890s and the 1970s — excepting, maybe, certain people in Central and Eastern Europe who were barred from doing so. And then they came over in the ’90s and 2000s
