India also opened it's first nuclear power plant years before Pakistan.

India also made the pakistan army surrender with ease in 1971 , when the pakistan army was carrying out a genocide against in east-pakistan against Bengalis.

Pakistan has always been retrograde and backward from top to bottom while India has had sparks of innovation and development despite widespread poverty.
India actually has potential to do things by itself and innovate while Pakistan is permanently third world and basically incapable of innovating anything, like a subsaharan African country.

Agreed. I think birthrates in your region have actually been starting to fall pretty dramatically in recent years, but your governments should have done something about it decades ago tbqh. People give the Chinese shit for the OCP (and I didn't necessarily agree with it), but at least their were proactive in trying to curb overpopulation. They didn't just sit on their hands and watch the problem get worse and worse.

The impoverished people living in slums will always have tons of children, as they see it as the only way to escape poverty; having more hands to bring income into the family. And of course the affluent ones will do just because they just can?
As the standard of living increases, so would the prices, further lowering the birth rates.
There's also a cultural factor, western lives I think are in a sense more individualistic. The people are driven towards passion, arts and their career, rather than just earning enough to support a family.
