i believe that major european countries like the uk, france, italy, northern europe, and spain were founded on communist, or at least socialist, values
they have always harbored romantic feelings toward leftist ideologies
they are fundamentally different from countries like south korea or the us, which are thoroughly dominated by capitalism
and i believe this is why europeans feel uncomfortable with the us and have mental resistance to it
the us and europe are superficially allies bound by nato, but emotionally, russia and europe are probably much closer
