Can’t speak for Canadians but for whatever reason a ton of them have made their home in Massachusetts. There was even a Portuguese/Brazilian festival when I was there not too long ago.
They’re pretty friendly and I like their food. The ones I talked to were from São Paulo. They humored my pathetic attempt at Portuguese

It's easy to know when a story is true because Brazilians do go there, but most of them are from Minas Gerais. Anyway, the story is that an engineer came to do some work in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, he liked Brazil and thought it would be a good idea to open an English school and bring Brazilian workers to Massachusetts (his place of origin) to work.

Exactly, and they are different.
Immigration to Massachusetts is part of Brazil's historical migration to the US, while Orlando is a recent phenomenon largely motivated by political causes.
They are completely different.
