I heard trans people who go all the way do some operation where they shave their vocal cords or something, and there is a 50% chance you will have a marginally higher natural voice or sound like Larry Page (Google founder), but also be guaranteed to forever cripple your ability to project your voice (yell and sing). That sounds like a terrible deal, and yet I can completely believe it, because many of them can be convinced in chopping their stuff off, when even a modicum of research will tell you the immeasurable suffering you are guaranteed if you go through with it.
