Astana is more modern looking, almaty is kinda stuck in the past and smells like shit because of all the cars and being located in the mountains so all the air pollution just kinda sits there. However Almaty has nicer and more down to earth people, a lot of artsy types, astana people are kinda cold. Food is pretty much the same. Uhhh, Almaty is hotter, Astana can get cold as fuck, windy as fuck and is generally kind of unpredictable like that. I think Astana is like the second coldest capital in the world too so you should probably come during summer if you’re unprepared for that. I live in Astana and would never move to Almaty lmao
