Poles come to Holland to work for poverty wages through agencies that also provide them housing. When they're fired they also lose their housing and end up on the street and often turn to drugs, at which point they're not welcome at homeless shelters. Mixed. Some love them, some hate them. Some claim they're shitty tourists, cheap, don't tip, get too drunk, ruin your apartment, aggressive, arrogant. Recently some Poles beat an old man to death on some island. People who work with Poles in international companies usually have good experiences, though. A lot of people see them as "our guys" compared to other tourists.

But tipping came from burgerland where waiters worked for less than minimum wage due to some weird sneaky loophole in the burger law. Adopting it in Europe is just mindless. Total bros. I've interacted with a lot of Mitteleuropans and Eastern Europeans, and I generally like them all, but Poles are definitely the best. One of my Polish coworkers found out I had a Polish surname (totally disconnected from the culture--family migrated here in the 1920s) and randomly started bringing me tons of Polish food; smoked kielbasa, paczki, pierogi, cabbage rolls, etc. He owns a food truck now, and travels across New England catering events with his big titty black wife. Soon after they joined the EU close to 20 years ago, pretty much half the country moved here. Poles are so common in our major towns & cities, that they don't even stick out any more. They just sort of blend into the background. My honest opinion of them? Generally positive. Many of them are genuinely thicker than pig shit and the men have a tendency to sit around street corners, or in front of bookies, drinking cheap beer and shouting at each in Polish at the top of their lungs. They also do commit more crime than English people. But for the most past, Poles are hardworking, sincere, don't cause much trouble and won't scam you in business. Also helps that they're culturally Christian and Western people. All things considered, they're definitely one of our better immigrant groups.
