Need my SEA bros to confirm an urban legend. A South Korean construction company built something in a certain SEA country, and they made their employees step on the floor barefoot, thinking this was like a blessing ritual based on the misunderstanding that human feet were considered sacred in the SEA.
I searched everywhere on the web and asked different chatbots a hundred times but couldn't find the exact story. Do any of you know any similar real incidents or urban legends?

It's a local superstition that means the building will be safe from demons.

you remove any footware when entering a mosque inner building & some temple but that's it
I only jeet touch people feet as a gesture of respect (or submission ?)

the real shit we say is any big enough construction require sacrifice (not shit we actualy do ofc)
if one of worked died, people will say you sacrificed him to finnish the construction, or the local spirit demands it
google "tumbal"

When we were in elementary school the hot urban legend among choldren was that megaprojects need children's heads as sacrifice so there are a lot of abductions going on. Spread like wildfire.

I forgot an important point. apparently this company did this in an Islamic SEA country or at least in an Islam dominant region, and this foot ceremony absolutely enraged the locals.
