what is feudalism?
there is a monarch, and usually he has underlords, dukes, earls, barons and the like
feudalism is a post-roman dynamic, not a form of government
feudalism exists because roman soldiers, after they fought for the empire, got their plot of land
then they got kids, plot of land was not sufficient, so their children had to expand the empire again, and get new plot of land

thats what NATO is, the USA are the king, and the other nations are the vassals supplying military support in case of war.
the USA also founded the U.N.
in that sense, the US are not occupying anything, the US rule the world, that's the definition of a world power.
now, i did ignore the sovereignty of pretty much every nation state on earth, but i am confident that they cant do jackshit about it
