Haha so you are psychoanalizing yourself based on your childhood fantasies? That's cool. More people should be introspective like that.
In my case, though, it's not as much a fear of death as it is just a hunger to know everything.
When I was a child I daydreamed about being inmortal and every time I died I would take the shape of a person in a random place and time period in history that I wanted. That way I could have lived to experience all the cultures, all the possible ways of living.
The limits of what the human experience can offer.
But I prefer this idea more because I can at least keep my identity a little bit longer, and I don't need to steal another person's body.
